Through many times of organization, Khanh Hoa billiards club open tournament has always attracted strong clubs and cueists in the country to take part; therefore, it has been evaluated as a good billiards tournament in Vietnam.

Although the tournament is just a movement tournament and a playground for the billiards clubs in the province to exchange with the other ones across the countries, the participation of many Vietnam’s well-known billiards players together with the professional organization has made the tournament prestigious.

The 2013 tournament was joined by around 100 athletes competing in two events one-cushion carom and three-cushion carom. This year’s tournament drew the attendance of 102 cueists of 29 clubs from 16 provinces, cities and industries over the country. Reportedly, the value of awards for excellent players was higher than precious years’ tournaments, up to VND20 million.

Some of the outstanding cueists attending Khanh Hoa billiards club open tournament 2014 were Duong Anh Vu, Ngo Dinh Nai, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Tran Quyet Chien (Ho Chi Minh City), Do Duc Hien (Can Tho), Ly The Vinh (Bao Khang Club, Khanh Hoa), Ma Dinh Cam (Ba Chieu Club, Ho Chi Minh City), etc.

It can be said that the organization wanted to improve this movement tournament’s quality through the number of participants and the changes in the events of competition (fewer than previous years) and value of awards, and so on.

“With the joining of many strong cueists across the country in this year’s tournament, Khanh Hoa’s billiards athletes had a good opportunity to exchange, learn and improve their professional quality,” said Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Finally, Ma Minh Cam, the national champion for three consecutive years (2011, 2012 and 2013), won the first place. The second place came to Duong Anh Vu and the third place belonged to Nguyen Quoc Nguyen (winning bronze medal at the 2014 Guri Three -Cushion World Cup held in South Korea).

At the 2014 tournament, Khanh Hoa’s cueists left a good impression on the audience with quite good performances. Among the outstanding athletes of Khanh Hoa was Nguyen Quoc Thang (Dien Khanh District) who won the highest score of 14 points.
