Coach Hoang Thi Huyen Nga and her athletics team has just won 11th consecutive whole-group championship at the national athletics and marathon tournament – Tien Phong Newspaper. According to the professionals, this is a record which is difficult to break.
The national athletics and marathon tournament – Tien Phong Newspaper is considered as the most long-standing tournament with the highest professional quality. This is also a cradle where many outstanding athletes of the national athletics team have been found and trained. The tournament is an opportunity to check and evaluate the athletics movement in the localities as well as to prepare the athlete force for the international tournaments.

Khanh Hoa athletics team was not the strongest one compared to the other teams competing at the 56th national athletics and marathon tournament – Tien Phong Newspaper, held in Vinh Phuc Province in late March, 2015. However, Khanh Hoa team set an incredible record when they achieved the 11th consecutive championship for whole group.
Khanh Hoa has been evaluated as one of the localities which have had a strong athletics movement in Vietnam. Many excellent athletes made impressive achievements which used to create a name for Khanh Hoa athletics, such as Quoc Lap, Lan Thanh, Huyen Nga, Van Truc, Ngoc Hanh, Khanh Doan, Truc Van and Thu Lan. Khanh Hoa athletics team now does not comprise players who are as excellent as their seniors; however, they have performed well in maintaining the position of a strong athletics team in Vietnam.
Up till now, Khanh Hoa team won more than 20 whole-group championships at the national athletics and marathon tournament – Tien Phong Newspaper, among them are 11 consecutive ones from 2005 to 2015. Some outstanding athletes who have contributed much to these achievements are Nguyen Dang Duc Bao (nine times), Nguyen Vinh Thien (nine times) and Pham Ngoc Hoang (ten times).
According to Coach Huyen Nga, beside the excellence of each athlete, the effort, solidarity and high determination of whole team contributed significantly to the success of Khanh Hoa team at this year’s tournament.
