Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism associated with the General Department of Sports and Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to hold a the movement sports tournament for people detoxifying from heroin at the provincial Center of Treatment, Education, Labor and Society (Ba Dui Hamlet. Khanh Binh Commune, Khanh Vinh District).

According to Nguyen Huu Thang, deputy head of public sports department (General Department of Sports), this activity has been organized annually by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in association with the provinces and cities in the country. The tournament aims to create opportunity for people detoxifying from heroin to soon integrate into the community after leaving the centers.
In the first time of organization in Khanh Hoa, the movement sports tournament was joined by more than 120 players from Khanh Hoa Provincial Center of Treatment, Education, Labor and Society and three communes in Khanh Vinh District: Khanh Hiep, Khanh Dong, Khanh Binh. The players competed in three events including men’s football, rod pushing and tug of war. This could be considered as a special tournament thanks to the participation of players from other units beside the ones of the Center of Treatment, Education, Labor and Society. This made the tournament become more meaningful because it showed no discrimination but passion for sports.
The final match between team of Center of Treatment, Education, Labor and Society and Khanh Hiep team was enthusiastically cheered by over 150 audiences. After 40 minutes, Center of Treatment, Education, Labor and Society’s team defeated the rival with the score of 3-1.
On this occasion, the organization board also held musical exchange between the members of the center and youth union members, youth people in the communes. At the exchange, the center’s members performed fashion show and touching items reflecting their real stories.
