As planed, there would be a paragliding tournament held at Sea Festival 2015. However, because of the unfavorable weather condition, the tournament was cancelled and paragliding pilots only organized flight performance. 20 paragliding pilots who came from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Khanh Hoa had four days experiencing paragliding at Khanh Le Moutain Pass (Son Thai Commune, Khanh Vinh District).
“We knew that Khanh Hoa has two potential spots for paragliding. Therefore I and our members in Hanoi planed to experience these two spots although we knew that the weather could be unfavorable,” said a paragliding pilot from Hanoi.

From July 1 to 14, the pilots including two female ones paraglided back down from Khanh Le Mountain Pass for a lot of times. “This place is very convenient for transportation. The place for takeoff and landing is wide. The summit is as high as 700 meters which is very suitable for paragliding,” a member of Vietwings Club in Hanoi said.
According to Hoang Mong Long, the paragliding coach of the northern aviation club, who used to paraglide for many times at Chin Khuc Mountain (Vinh Thai Commune, Nha Trang) and Khanh Le Mountain Pass, the latter one is suitable for paragliding training as well as has some challenging areas for experienced pilots. At this place, under a favorable condition, the pilots can fly up to over 2,000 meters and can paraglide continuously for around four hours.
In Khanh Hoa Province, the fact that paragliding was selected as an activity of the Sea Festival bears some meanings. Nha Trang Paragliding Club has also recently been established. That was an opportunity to promote the two new paragliding spots.
Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of Nha Trang Paragliding Club, said “The organization of paragliding at Sea Festival 2015 aimed to connect paragliding pilots throughout the country, and thence build up the paragliding movement in Khanh Hoa. At present, Nha Trang Paragliding Club has been recruiting the first trainee generation. The senior paragliding coaches across the country will cooperate in the training program. During the paragliding performance held in the period of Sea Festival 2015, the club has received supports from the authorities and local government. These supports have been factors which will help the paragliding movement to develop strongly. This is an attractive and exciting sport which, in the near future, will become a tourism product favored by a lot of domestic and foreign tourists.”
