Last week, the atmosphere at Nha Trang Sports Training and Competing Center became ebullient thanks to the competitions within the basketball championship and the basketball tournament for children.
The tournament is held annually by Nha Trang Culture - Sports Center in order to create a summer playground for students, pupils, teenagers and children loving basketball in the city and neighboring localities. Apart from the championship for the players aged from 16 and above, this year’s tournament also included an event for teenagers and pupils studying at the primary schools and junior high schools.

Although it was just a movement playground, the championship for the players over 15 years old saw a tense competition among teams. The final match of the men’s championship was enthusiastically cheered by hundreds of audiences, which partly helped the match to become more ebullient. Finally, Vinh Phuoc team claimed the championship. At the men’s children event, Phuoc Hoa 3 and Phan Chu Trinh School provided the audience a mild competition with many funny moments when young players struggling with the basketball to throw it into the hoop.
“Participating in this tournament, I realize that the basketball movement in Nha Trang City is developing quite strongly. The tournament is really a useful playground for young people; therefore, it should keep being organized and invested so that the quality of the tournament can be improved,” said Phuong Linh, a player of Nha Trang University.
According to Nguyen Tuan Thanh, head of the organization board, the number of participating teams has increased by years. The teams from neighboring localities have also attended the tournament regularly. This shows that the strong development of basketball movement in Nha Trang City and other localities in Khanh Hoa Province.
