The national strong table-tennis team tournament 2015 is not only the playground for the strong teams in Vietnam to assert their position but also an opportunity for the new players to show their skills and for the host Khanh Hoa to exchange experience.

The national strong table-tennis team tournament – Phuong Dong Bank Cup 2015, held by Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Table-tennis Federation, kicked off at Khanh Hoa Province’s Sports Competition House on October 21. The attendance of more than 70 male and female players from 12 clubs, cities and industries across the country at this year tournament promises to provide the audience interesting and competitive matches. The players compete for four sets of medals in the events of men’s doubles, women’s doubles, men’s singles and women’s singles.

According to Pham Duc Thanh, Secretary General of Vietnam Table-tennis Federation, through the tournament, the organization board will check and evaluate the quality of the players in order to select the members of the national table-tennis team, preparing for the tournaments held in 2016.

At the 2015 tournament, beside the familiar athletes who are strong ones of Vietnam’s table-tennis, there are many new players and promising young ones, such as Nguyen Xuan Hien (aged 17, Hai Duong), Dinh Thi Hang (Hai Duong) and Pham Da Thao (Hanoi). These three athletes have been recently selected as the most excellent young players at the national table-tennis championship 2015.

Khanh Hoa team joins this tournament with the senior athlete, Doan Kien Quoc, and some young ones like To Duc Hoang, Nguyen Thanh Nhan and Nguyen Tran Hieu Ngon who have still had not much experience. The host is in the same group with Hai Duong and Hanoi T&T, the two present strongest table-tennis teams in Vietnam. In addition, at men’s singles event, Khanh Hoa’s young players cannot be competitive with the senior athletes of the other teams. Therefore, the 2015 tournament is only considered as a good opportunity for the young players of Khanh Hoa to exchange and learn experience.
