Specifically, Vietnamese weightlifting team got 47 points at the 2014 championships and 45 points at the 2015 one. According to the regulations of the International Weightlifting Federation, at the men’s event, the teams ranking from 19th to 24th after 2014 and 2015 world weightlifting championships get three athletes qualifying for the 2016 Olympics. 
 
At present, apart from three weightlifters, Vietnam has three competitors who will join Rio 2016 Olympics, including Nguyen Thi Anh Vien (swimming), Hoang Xuan Vinh and Tran Quoc Cuong (shooting).
