The last match of men’s event in group A within the first round of the National Volleyball Championship 2016 was the one between two low ranked teams Long An and Ben Tre on April 8. Earlier, Sanest Khanh Hoa and The Cong 15th Corps were determined to take part in Hung Vuong Cup.
Sanest Khanh Hoa finished the round with three wins and one loss, getting ten points. Through the competitions, the effectiveness of the changes to the line-up has been shown. Recently-joined players Tu Thanh Thuan and Thien Men have completed their roles quite well in filling the void. Since the joining of Tu Thanh Thuan, considered as the present most excellent outside setter of Vietnam’s volleyball, Ngo Van Kieu has not been “alone” in the attacking line, resulting in a higher scoring efficiency for the team.
Thien Men, a former experienced athlete of Duc Long Gia Lai, playing at the position of setter, has contributed to bring the stability to the team’s playing style. Beside new players, the return of middle blocker Thanh Phong from injury and good form of libero Nguyen Trung Truc have played significant roles in the achievements of Sanna Khanh Hoa.
Trieu Tu Thien, Head Coach of Sanest Khanh Hoa said that he has been satisfied with the results of the team at the first round. Although the team made many mistakes in the clash with The Cong 15th Corps, players of Sanest Khanh Hoa performed better in the following matches.
According to the results of the first round, Hung Vuong Cup will be the competitions of Sanest Khanh Hoa, The Cong 15th Corps, Trang An Ninh Binh and Border team.
Hopefully, with the advantage of having more time to recover strength and prepare for the upcoming games than the rivals (Sanest Khanh Hoa played last match on April 7), the team will enter Hung Vuong Cup with highest determination and best preparation to bring home the highest achievement.
