Sanna Khanh Hoa wins championship at National Volleyball Championship for Young Teams 2016

Scooping a convincing 3-1 win over young team of Ho Chi Minh City in the final match of the National Volleyball Championship for Young Teams 2016, Sanna Khanh Hoa claimed the championship at the tournament which was first held in Nha Trang City.

 

 

The final of men’s event between Sanna Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City young team took place at Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Competition House on June 4. This was considered as the most attractive game of this year’s tournament. The present champion Sanna Khanh Hoa, bright candidate for the highest prize, had had excellent performances in the earlier matches with series of unbeaten ones. In the same time, Ho Chi Minh City young team also showed their splendid form when they ranked second in the group and defeated the stronger rival, Da Nang Sports Training Center, 3-1 in the semi-final match. Therefore, the game between Sanna Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City young team attracted a lot of audience.

 

In the first two sets, Sanna Khanh Hoa was superior to the rival, winning 25-17 and 25-22. In the third set, Ho Chi Minh City young team overcame the beach city’s team at 25-23. The last set saw the excellence of Sanna Khanh Hoa’s outside hitters, Quoc Doan and Van Tien, bringing 3-1 victory to the host team. Besides, Duong Van Tien of Sanna Khanh Hoa was given the title of the most promising athlete.

 

“I am very satisfied with the performance of our athletes in the final match. We deserved the victory. The athletes overcame difficult situations, played with confidence and achieved the trophy,” said Thai Quang Lai, head coach of Sanna Khanh Hoa. The victory of Sanna Khanh Hoa at this year’s championship has had a great meaning to the team because it is not only the first champion of Sanna Khanh Hoa in the home ground but also the third consecutive cups of this young team. Not many male teams have gotten these achievements.
