In the first round of the National Volleyball Championship 2016, Sanest Khanh Hoa was one of the group stage first place teams, qualified to Hung Vuong Cup and then scooped their first championship at this tournament. In May 2016, Sanna Khanh Hoa claimed the third consecutive championship at the National Volleyball Championship for Young Teams which was first held in Khanh Hoa. Additionally, the male and female athletes of Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball had successful competitions at the first tour of the National Beach Volleyball Tournament held in Hai Phong, the place which has been considered as the cradle of beach volleyball in Vietnam.

Other sports also gained encouraging results. For example, U19 Khanh Hoa football team played well and got the bronze medal and fair play award at the final round of the National U19 Tournament. Sanest Tourist Khanh Hoa finished second at the National Beach Football Championship held in Da Nang. Six athletes of Sanest Tourist Khanh Hoa were also selected to join the national beach football team to prepare for the Fifth Asian Beach Games which is slated to take place in Da Nang in September.

The traditional martial arts of Khanh Hoa Province have kept showing their competitiveness at the domestic tournaments with two gold medals, six silver medals and two bronze medals. Kick boxing had one gold and two bronzes at the tournament for clubs.

According to Tran Quang Thuong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Technique Training Center, most of the high-achievement sport teams gained good results at the tournaments they joined. Specifically, the provincial sport teams took part in 16 national tournament and one international one (11th South East Asian Athletics Youth Championship held in Thailand); won 22 gold medals, 29 silver medals and 29 bronze medals. Nine athletes were granted master title; sixteen athletes were given level-1 title.

However, it was also stated by Thuong that the center and its athletes have still had many difficulties in training, practicing and competing due to the lack of facility and funds. Besides, it has also been hard to retain the talents as well as recruit young players because there has not had suitable policy for these players. Therefore, the center hopes to receive more attention and investments from the authorities and organizations in order for the athletes to contribute more to the province’s sports.
