The 2016 championship was organized at the provincial Sports Competition House from August 14 to 18, attended by six male teams and five female teams from the districts, towns, cities, businesses and armed forces in the province. This year’s tournament saw an increase in number of female teams compared to the previous years. Moreover, these teams showed that they prepared quite well for the tournament. This was considered as an encouragement for the volleyball movement.
At the championship, the teams exhibited a good spirit of competition although it was just a movement tournament. Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest male team was the most outstanding one among the participants. A part from being coached by professional Huynh Thai Lai, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest team had many athletes who used to play in the professional playgrounds, such as Van Kha, Quang Nhat and Ngo Van Cong. Therefore, the team easily won all five games and finally scooped the championship.
Ninh Hoa was also a team which performed well at the 2016 volleyball championship. Thanks to the good preparation and stable spirit of competition, the team made amazing comeback against the opponents. Finally, Ninh Hoa had ten points after four matches, placing second, followed by Nha Trang City team.
In women’s event, all of the teams were relatively equal. Nha Trang team and Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest team were highly evaluated. Both teams had three wins before entering the final game; however, Nha Trang had an advantage over the opponents thanks to the goal difference. Finally, after three tense sets, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest overcame Nha Trang to achieve the highest prize.
It can be said that the 2016 Khanh Hoa Provincial volleyball championship had quite high professional quality. The championship drew the units and businesses which have had strong indoor volleyball movement in the province. This is a driving force to develop the volleyball movement in the localities. However, in order to promote its social effects as well as the attractiveness, a regular organization or larger scale is necessary.
