Khanh Hoa’s table-tennis has three representatives at the national table-tennis tournament for young outstanding athletes held in Hai Duong from August 24 to 28.

The tournament is joined by more than 70 athletes of 20 teams from the provinces, cities and industries in the country. The most outstanding teams among 20 ones are Hanoi, Army, T&T Club, Hai Duong, Da Nang and Thanh Hoa, etc.
In order to take in part in this tournament, the participants had had to achieve good results in the national table-tennis tournament for teenagers and children (Tien Phong Newspaper) organized recently in Da Nang. Through the rigorous selection process for the junior tournament, the table-tennis teams and clubs of the localities had opportunity to check and evaluate the quality of young athletes.
In the table-tennis tournament for young outstanding athletes 2016, Khanh Hoa has three players competing in men’s single, women’s single, mixed doubles, namely Vu Hoang Duc Duy (U18), Nguyen Dinh Minh Thu (U13), Doan Thinh (U19). These athletes earned Khanh Hoa’s table-tennis team two bronze medals in team’s event at the tournament held in Da Nang. Reportedly, Nguyen Dinh Minh Thu has been highly evaluated by the professionals for her impressive performances in the 2015 and 2016 national table-tennis tournament for teenagers and children.
According to Nguyen Minh Dat, Specialty Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Technique Training Center, the three athletes have been in good physical and mental condition. The coach board of Khanh Hoa team set a target of winning at least one bronze medal in women’s event.
Khanh Hoa’s young table-tennis team has achieved remarkable achievements. This can be considered as the fruit for the efforts of Khanh Hoa’s table-tennis in order to revive the sport which used to be the strength of the coastal province.
