According to Vo Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, since the beginning of the year, there have been 436 athletes of high-achievement sports having been trained. Among them are 163 professional athletes, 150 young ones and 123 talented ones. One taekwondo athlete was sent to Korea for training. Three coaches and ten athletes of volleyball, beach volleyball, and traditional martial art were selected to play for the national sports teams.
The provincial Sports Technique Training Center formed 17 teams and fielded athletes to join 42 national-level sports tournaments. Khanh Hoa’s athletes have got 157 medals, including 40 gold medals, 54 silver medals and 63 bronze medals. 17 athletes were granted master title; 59 athletes were given national level-1 title. Khanh Hoa’s volleyball had successful tournaments with two cups of Sanest Khanh Hoa at Hung Vuong Cup and Dam Phu My Cup and one championship of Sanna Khanh Hoa at the National Volleyball Tournament for Young Athletes. Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam played quite well at V-League 2016 and finished at seventh place.
In reference to the sports socialization, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company has still been the sponsor for two indoor volleyball teams (Sanna Khanh Hoa and Sanest Khanh Hoa), one beach volleyball team (Sanna Khanh Hoa) and one football team (Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam). Especially, Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam was fully funded when playing at V-League 2016.
At the ceremony, Nguyen Dac Tai acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the coaches and athletes. As reported by Tai, Khanh Hoa Province has attached special importance to investing for the young athletes who are considered as the foundation to develop the province’s sports industry. Tai also stated that the provincial sports industry needs to pay more attention to the sports socialization in order to improve the facilities and quality of the athletes in both movement sports and high-achievement sports.
Tran Quang Thuong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Technique Training Center said that the attention of the province’s leaders will be the driving force which helps the people working in the sports industry in general and coaches, athletes in particular to overcome difficulties and achieve good results.
On this occasion, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee also commended and awarded the young volleyball team and 13 individuals who gained gold medals in the tournaments.
