Following one month after V-League 2016, Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam (Sanna KH-BVN) reassembled on October 17. Beside looking for a new foreign striker, the team’s coach board decided to keep putting faith on their young athletes.

Although having no star in the line-up, the team from the coastal province still finished the 2015 and 2016 season with impressive achievements. Right after the end of V-League 2016, the coach board of Sanna KH-BVN came to Binh Dinh to re-sign forward Van Thanh and midfield Van Trien. However, the management unit of these players had made a deal with Saigon Club. Therefore, Sanna KH-BVN will join 2017 season without these two athletes in the line-up. Nevertheless, these changes are said to not have many effects on the overall strength of the team because there are other players who are equal to the positions.

The most important change in the line-up of Sanna KH-BVN in V-League 2017 may be the absence of striker Uche who has recently signed with Thanh Hoa. The fact that, in the last two seasons, Sanna KH-BVN almost built their attack around Uche is likely to cause the team some difficulties in order to fill the void left by this forward. “The current top priority of Sanna KH-BVN is looking for a foreign forward to replace Uche. We are considering two candidates who played in V-League 2016; however, these two seem to be not the most suitable candidates. Therefore, in the time going to the South to prepare for the new season, the team will have training matches with other teams and look for some foreigner players who have been on probation in Vietnam,” said Vo Dinh Tan, head coach of Sanna KH-BVN.

Reportedly, seeking for suitable and outstanding foreign athletes has also been the target of many other teams beside Sanna KH-BVN. However, with only some trials, it is difficult for the teams to assess accurately the skills and quality of players who are new to Vietnam’s football.

Apart from some difficulties of foreign athletes, Sanna KH-BVN has their own reliable athletes, especially the young ones. The team’s young players had impressive performances in the 2016 season. Specifically, Dinh Khuong showed a great progress in the role of a holding midfielder while Lam Ti Phong was highly evaluated for his defensive and goal-scoring ability. Lam Ti Phong was one of the two prolific goalscorers of Sanna KH-BVN in V-League 2016. Trum Tinh was also a young outstanding athlete of Sanna KH-BVN in the last season although he did not have many opportunities to join the games because other central midfielders were playing well their role. Additionally, the stable form of other young ones (Van Vu, Quoc Chi and Tan Tai, etc.) also contributed positively to the achievements of Sanna KH-BVN.

For all these things, in the 2017 season, Sanna KH-BVN will offer more opportunities for the young athletes to prove their progress, as reported by Vo Dinh Tan.
