The final round took place at Ha Tien Town, Kien Giang from October 29 to November 1, jointly held by Kien Giang Provincial Department of Culture and Sports and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training. The tournament was attended by 33 teams (15 female teams, 18 male teams) from 11 provinces and cities having quite strong beach volleyball movement, such as Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai phong, Da Nang, Can Tho, and the host Kien Giang.
Most of the senior athletes and young excellent ones of Vietnam’ beach volleyball participated in the championship; therefore, the tournament was attractive with high quality competitions. The participants at this final round were the ones who had had outstanding achievements at the first and second tour of the National Beach Volleyball Championship held earlier. The results at this final round decide the place of the athletes on the ranking board of Vietnam Volleyball Federation.
Since 2010, Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball, especially male teams, has always been highly assessed by the professionals. Khanh Hoa’s athletes have often been the bright candidates for the championship title. At this year’s final round of the National Beach Volleyball Championship, Nguyen Trong Quoc and Nguyen Thanh Vinh of Sanna Khanh Hoa qualified for the final match and had a 2-0 win over Khoi and Quy of Ho Chi Minh City. This has been the third championship of Quoc and Vinh in this year’s season beside the two ones gaining at the first and the second tour. Nguyen Thanh Vinh was also voted as the most excellent athlete.
Another pair of Sanna Khanh Hoa, Tran Quang Vu and Nguyen Van Nha, won bronze medal. Reportedly, Tran Quang Vu pairing with Nguyen Thanh Tuan also performed excellently and achieved the highest prize at the National Junior Beach Volleyball Tournament organized in October 26-28.
According to Nguyen Cao Dong, Coach of Sanna Khanh Hoa beach volleyball team, all the achievements of the teams at the national championships have reflected truthfully the efforts to build up and develop the beach volleyball in Khanh Hoa Province. Apart from the exertions of the athletes, these achievements have also been contributed by the investments of the province’s leaders and Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company.
