The second round of PV GAS National Volleyball Championship 2016 for the teams of group A officially kicked off at Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Competition House on December 5. In men’s event, Sanest Khanh Hoa met Ben Tre in the first day of the championship. According to the professionals, the host is a highly competent team compared to Ben Tre. While Ben Tre almost has no noticeably outstanding athlete, Sanest Khanh Hoa has been considered as a potential candidate for the championship thanks to its strong attackers.
However, there have been some shortcomings often made by the setters and outside hitters of Sanest Khanh Hoa, which are often exploited by the opponents. This weakness has caused difficulties for the team in some times during the match. For example, in their first clash at the second tour, Ben Tre had many times leading the game after the setter and outside hitter of Sanest Khanh Hoa had made mistakes. However, thanks to the appropriate tactical changes of Coach Trieu Tu Thien, Sanest Khanh Hoa gradually controlled the match and won all three sets.
Reportedly, at present, Sanest Khanh Hoa is contemporarily topping group A with four wins and one loss. Trieu Tu Thien said that the team’s players closely followed the strategy and he was satisfied with the players’ performances. According to Thien, it is difficult to forecast the result of Sanest Khanh Hoa at the second tour because the team will play teams which are not easy to beat (The Cong 15th Corps, Long An, the Fourth Corps – Becamex). However, the whole team will strive to lead group A and qualify for the final round.
As planned, Sanest Khanh Hoa is going to meet Long An on December 8. The matchday will also see the competitions between The Cong 15th Corps and Ben Tre (men’s even), Quang Ninh and Vietinbank (women’s event).
