Vietnamese chess player wins gold at Asian Junior Chess Championships 2017

Vietnamese young chess player Tran Tuan Minh won a gold medal in the Rapid event of the 2017 Asian Junior Chess Championships 2017 which is taking place in Iran.

The 20-year-old chess player takes part in the championships as a seed thanks to his recent championship titles in Vietnam’s National Chess Championships and second place at the HDBank International Open Chess Tournament 2017.
 
Minh had had four consecutive wins and one loss before overcoming Iran’s Mersad Khodashenas, in the final. With six points after seven matches, Minh claimed the gold in Rapid event.
