At the second tour of the National Beach Volleyball Tournament held recently in Binh Thuan Province, the provincial beach volleyball team of Khanh Hoa performed excellently and won seven out of eight gold medals.
In fact, the first and the second tour of the National Beach Volleyball Tournament are just the national average leagues where the teams over the country practice for the third tour and other big tournaments like the National Physical Exercise and Sports Festival. Therefore, although the achievements at these tours are not too important, they have still reflected the investments as well as efforts of Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball during the past time.

In the last five years, Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball athletes have gained many impressive results at the national tournaments. For example, Trong Quoc and Thanh Vinh have had ten times standing on the highest podium of the national tournaments; Thanh Loan, Tran Thi Trong, Thanh Tram, and Tuyet Ngan have always ranked in the top positions at the tournaments. At the 2014 National Physical Exercise and Sports Festival taking place in Nha Trang, Trong Quoc – Thanh Vinh, Thanh Loan – Tran Thi Trong brought two gold medals in men’s and women’s event to Khanh Hoa team.
In order to defend the championship, Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball team started the preparation for the 2018 National Physical Exercise and Sports Festival right at the beginning of this year.
According to Nguyen Cao Dong, Head Coach of Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball team, Trong Quoc – Thanh Vinh will be still the main pair of Khanh Hoa in men’s event. Besides, young athletes Van Nha and Quang Vu, who have consecutively been in top three, are the promising pair of Khanh Hoa.
In women’s event, this year, Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball has the joining of Nguyen Thi Mai, former athlete of Hai Phong. Mai together with Truong Thi Yen used to be the No. 1 beach volleyball pair in Vietnam. After joining Khanh Hoa’s team, Mai has paired and played well with Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram, who is now young member of the national beach volleyball team. “Nguyen Thi Mai and Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram will be ones of the key athletes of Khanh Hoa team at the Eighth National Physical Exercise and Sports Festival,” said Dong.
