Khanh Hoa’s mini football tournament – BIVINA Cup which has been organized for the first time through socialization was a playground with quite high quality for the people who love football in Khanh Hoa.

The tournament was jointly held by Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports and Heineken Vietnam from May to the end of July. This was also the first time a provincial level mini football tournament has been held in nearly two months. The tournament included two legs. The qualifying round was held in six localities throughout the province to decide 16 qualifying teams for the final round, a single-elimination round, which took place in Nha Trang City in July 28-29.

In the past, all quality mini football tournaments of Khanh Hoa like Larue Cup and Saigon Beer Cup only took place in three to five days, were joined by relatively strong teams and were often held in Nha Trang. The BIBINA Cup was extended longer so that more localities and more teams could take part in the tournament. This made the tournament to be more attractive and also helped to connect more football lovers in the province.

Thanks to the new way of organization, more teams over the province could participate in the tournament, varying from local clubs to communes’ and wards’ teams. Besides, the final round being held as a knockout also compelled the teams to play with higher determination, created fiercer competition, surprising results and excitements for both teams and spectators.

Finally, Huong Vi Cam Nghia – Cam Ranh team won the championship. Two athletes of Cam Ranh Beer Club were given title of best goalkeeper and best player.

As reported by Vo Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, in recent years, the mini football movement in Khanh Hoa has developed quite strongly. Nowadays, most of the localities in the province have artificial turf mini football pitch invested by private businesses. In addition, some individuals formed their own football team to play at the provincial-level tournaments. The mini football tournaments have also been organized with increasingly high quality. “Through the BIVINA Cup, we could see the interest of Heineken Vietnam in Khanh Hoa’s movement sports activities. Hopefully, the business will keep maintaining useful and quality sports playgrounds in Khanh Hoa,” added Hung.
