Vietnam has one gold at World Games 2017

Athlete Bui Yen Ly earned Vietnam's sports delegation a gold medal at the World Games 2017 taking place in Wroclaw, Poland. Ly defeated Thai athlete Koson Apasara in Women's 51kg Finals Gold Medal Contest, winning the first and sole medal for Vietnam at this tournament.
 

Athlete Bui Yen Ly earned Vietnam’s sports delegation a gold medal at the World Games 2017 taking place in Wroclaw, Poland. Ly defeated Thai athlete Koson Apasara in Women’s 51kg Finals Gold Medal Contest, winning the first and sole medal for Vietnam at this tournament.
 
Vietnam fielded six athletes to the World Games 2017 to compete in four sports: fin swimming men’s surface 100m, jujitsu, billiards, and muay Thai.
 
With one gold medal, Vietnam’s sports delegation placed 39th out of 63 positions (102 sports delegations).

 

 
The World Games, first organized in 1981 by the International World Games Association (IWGA), is a quadrennial sports event including the sports which are not included in the Olympic Games.
