The 2017 national beach volleyball championship takes place in September 22-30. The prizes include trophy and VND30 million for the champion; VND20 million for the runner-up; and VND10 million for the third place team. Additionally, some extra prizes worth VND5 million each will be given to the most excellent goalkeeper and player, most scoring player.
Since first joining in 2009, Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball teams won four championship titles, two second prizes and two third prizes. At a national-level tournament, this has been considered as relatively good achievements. However, the achievements of Khanh Hoa beach volleyball have recently declined. Khanh Hoa’s teams went down to the teams from Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue in the 2015 and 2016 championship.
Before 2016, beach volleyball was only a movement sport in Khanh Hoa. Since early 2016, the provincial sports department has paid more attention to this sport and incorporated it into the provincial Sports Technique Training Center. Since then, beach volleyball has become one of the strong sports of Khanh Hoa in the domestic and international tournaments.
Taking part in the 2017 national beach volleyball championship as the host, Khanh Hoa’s teams set goal to win the championship title. Reportedly, since the beginning of this year, the athletes of Khanh Hoa have actively practiced to prepare for this tournament. All 12 players are now ready for the upcoming competitions.

This year’s championship consists of four teams, who are Khanh Hoa 1 (provincial team), and Khanh Hoa 2 (movement team), Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang. According to Le Van Tu, Head Coach of Khanh Hoa provincial beach volleyball team, Dang Nang, the reigning champion, is a formidable opponent because the beach volleyball movement in Da Nang has developed quite well. Apart from that, Da Nang athletes have been professionally trained. Thua Thien Hue has also been a familiar participant at this championship and used to win two championships.
Hopefully, with careful preparation and appropriate tactic, the representatives of Khanh Hoa will achieve the desired goal.
