The tournament has created a playground for the young players to show their skills and reach their goal of becoming professional athletes. In order to be selected for the professional teams, besides scoring and actively helping the team to win over opponents, the young players need to perform their individual efforts and good competitive spirit throughout the matches. That is also one of the contributions to the excitement of this tournament.
This year’s tournament is joined by 12 male and 12 female volleyball teams countrywide. In men’s event, the matches of Group A, including the reigning champion Sanest Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Border, Army Corps 4, Binh Duong, and Ha Tinh, have attracted most attention. The host Sanest Khanh Hoa is asserting their strength with 12 points after four consecutive wins, topping Group A.
Meanwhile, Group B is seeing fierce competition among Ninh Binh, The Cong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Military Region 4 for the first place. Ninh Binh is contemporarily placing first, just one and two points more than the second- and third-placed teams. Therefore, the next competitions between these teams promise to be exciting.

As said by Thai Quang Lai, Head Coach of Sanest Khanh Hoa, the participating teams at this year’s tournament have equal quality compared to the previous ones. The new regulation of Vietnam Volleyball Federation requires all localities and units which have professional volleyball teams to send representative to the National Junior Tournament for Volleyball Clubs. Otherwise, their professional teams will be relegated. Therefore, most of the young teams at the 2017 National Junior Tournament for Volleyball Clubs had been offered better investment.
For Sanest Khanh Hoa, prior to this tournament, the team took part in the final round of the 2017 National A-Level Volleyball Tournament held in Ben Tre and finished third. Sanest Khanh Hoa also recruited three young players from the strong clubs and centers in Vietnam like Da Nang National Sport Training Center is the most outstanding athlete. With these preparations, the host aims to defend their championship title.
In women’s event, Thongtin LVPB, VTV Binh Dien Long An, ViettinBank, and Tien Nong Thanh Hoa are showing superior to the other. The championship holder for three consecutive national junior tournaments, ViettinBank, with the recent joining of two athletes of the national team is also highly evaluated at this year’s tournament.
With the last and ongoing competitions, the upcoming matches of the 2017 National Junior Tournament for Volleyball Clubs are expected to be even more attractive.
