Being held at ASIA Billiards Club from November 17 to 19, the tournament continued to see the participation of many players in and outside Khanh Hoa. 67 players of 12 teams from the provinces in the central and highland area played many exciting competitions. The supports of some businesses also contributed to the success of this year’s tournament.
Reportedly, from 2010 to 2014, the tournament was organized on a larger scale with the participation of strong billiards teams from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The superiority of national players such as Duong Anh Vu, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Duong Dinh Nai, and Ma Minh Cam almost gave Khanh Hoa’s players no chance to win any competition.
Therefore, in order to offer a more suitable playground for the movement players in the province, since 2015, the three-cushion billiards open tournament of Khanh Hoa has been organized on a narrower scale, for the players in the Central and Highlands only. “We want to provide a suitable tournament to the movement billiards players in the province; offer them opportunities to exchange and learn experience from each other, thereby promoting the billiards movement in Khanh Hoa,” said Vo Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, Head of organization committee of Khanh Hoa three-cushion billiards open tournament.

Since the format of the tournament has been changed, the quality difference among competitors has been narrowed. The players of equal level have had opportunities to show their skills. Da Nang was the most excellent team at this year’s tournament when winning one gold medal and one silver medal. Khanh Hoa’s players also showed improvement and gained two bronzes.
Through the results of the 2017 tournament, Khanh Hoa has still maintained the position of one of the localities having the strongest billiards movement in the Central and Highlands. This has been expected to be the driving force for Khanh Hoa’s billiards players to continue practicing and developing skills.
Apart from the supports from the familiar businesses (Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, ASIA Billiards Club), the 2017 three-cushion billiards open tournament of Khanh Hoa received the sponsorship from two more enterprises. These supports partly cheered the competitors up and helped them to play better.
