Khanh Hoa’s badminton has been showing promising development. The movement of badminton in the province has maintained stability; the quality of activities of the badminton clubs over the province has been improved through the form of socialization.

In recent years, the badminton movement of Khanh Hoa has developed quite well and played an active part in the achievements of Khanh Hoa’s sports. According to the provincial Badminton Federation, the province now has 33 badminton clubs with thousands of regular members, in which the most outstanding clubs are Hoang Hoa Tham, Team Brother, Green Planet, Huy Forza, and Passion, etc. The players practicing at these clubs have effectively contributed to the badminton movement of Khanh Hoa.

Vo Tan Binh, official at Khanh Hoa Provincial Badminton Federation, the federation has closely coordinated with the departments and localities in the province to form and maintain the organization of badminton tournaments at all levels for the purpose of promote the badminton movement over the province. Khanh Hoa Badminton Open Tournament has been organized for 16 years and attracted not only clubs in Khanh Hoa but also the ones in other regions such as the central, highlands, south-east, and south-west of the country.

Every year, the provincial Badminton Federation and the provincial Department of Culture and Sports select and train players for the badminton tournaments for all ages. From 2012 to 2017, the badminton players of Khanh Hoa took part in more than 15 tournaments and won 12 gold medals, 22 silver medals, and 25 bronze medals. The preparations for these tournaments were also supported by the provincial departments, localities, units, and individuals. “There are 200 badminton courts in Khanh Hoa. 60 courts out of 200 are the covered ones and were equipped with lights,” said Binh.

Apart from the positive aspects, the badminton movement of Khanh Hoa in general and Badminton Federation in particular have still had some problems affecting the development of the province’s badminton. For example, the maintenance of movement and activities of badminton clubs in the rural areas has still not been carried out effectively. Besides, the lack of athletes and funds has been the cause of the limited achievements of Khanh Hoa’s badminton at the national tournaments.
