Record number of spectators watching first matches of V-League 2018

V-League 2018 started lately with a record number of spectators. 60,000 spectators (average of around 12,000 spectators per match) came to watch five out of seven matches of the first round of V-League 2018. The average per game attendance in the 2017 season was 8,571; in 2016 was 10,071; in 2015 was 7,643.

The rise in number of spectators in V-League 2018 is said to thanks to the impressive achievement of Vietnam U-23 at the AFC U23 Championship 2018, which has helped to strengthen the confidence of fans in Vietnam’s football. Besides, the schedule of V-League 2018 scheduled to take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays has also been one factor attracting spectators to the stadiums.
