Although, Sanest Khanh Hoa has still been highly evaluated and been a formidable opponent to play against in the domestic tournaments, with the mentioned above changes, Sanest Khanh Hoa is having a lot of things to do to maintain their position.
It can be said that, to Sanest Khanh Hoa, it is now the transitional period of the experienced senior athletes and the young ones. Key player Ngo Van Kieu is thirty-five years old, and it will be difficult for him to keep the best form. It is also impossible for outside setter Tu Thanh Thuan, the most excellent attacker in the domestic volleyball tournaments, to handle all the attacks. In that circumstance, new Head Coach Thai Quang Lai decided to rejuvenate the team with four young players: Thanh Phuong, Quang Doan, Xuan Dung, and Dinh Nhu. These young players proved their skills and competences when playing for junior volleyball teams of Khanh Hoa in many domestic tournaments.
With the changes of the line-up, Sanest Khanh Hoa needs time to harmonize the play between the senior and junior players, as well as to improve and diversify the play style. The team has still often made mistakes in serve receive situations. The passes from the setter have often been ineffective.

The another challenge for Sanest Khanh Hoa is the 2018 National Volleyball Championships is that this year’s tournament will have only one round before the final round instead of two rounds like the previous years. Ten participating teams will play in two groups. The first and second placed teams of each group will qualify for the finals. The reigning champion Sanest Khanh Hoa will face tough opponents who are Trang An Ninh Binh and Ho Chi Minh City besides Ha Tinh and Xo so kien thiet Vinh Long.
With only one round, the teams have to perform with their best form right in the beginning in order to gain a spot in the final round. Therefore, unlike Sanest Khanh Hoa, most of the teams of the 2018 National Volleyball Championships have been actively recruiting quality athletes. For example, Trang An Ninh Binh recently signed the number 1 middle blocker Nguyen Hoang Thuong. Together with setter Giang Van Duc, Nguyen Hoang Thuong promises to enhance the power of Trang An Ninh Binh in the upcoming tournament.
Ho Chi Minh City also prepared for the 2018 tournament with the join of some outstanding players. Whereas, Ha Tinh and Xo so kien thiet Vinh Long are showing high determination to win this year’s championship.
All the above things can probably be the difficult obstacles for Sanest Khanh Hoa to defend their championship title.
The group stage of the 2018 National Volleyball Championships is slated to take place at Gia Lam Competition House (Hanoi) and Hai Duong Provincial Competition House from April 14 to 24 to decide the top four of men’s event and top four of women’s event. These eight teams will compete for the men’s and women’s championships in the finals taking place in Ben Tre in December. The last eight teams will also advance to Hung Vuong Cup 2018.
