As said by Vo Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, the organization committee of the provincial beach football tournament has always attached an importance to the quality of the tournament, which is narrowing the big gap in quality between the movement football teams.

The tournament held in 2012 saw the most number of participating teams (12 teams). The following years’ tournaments had fewer teams (7-8 teams). Before 2017, not all localities across the province could form beach football team to join the tournament. There were often some teams of businesses or units like Sanest Tourist or Police, and the final games was often the competitions between Nha Trang and one of these teams. The beach football tournament held within the framework of the year provincial Physical Exercise and Sports Festival 2017 saw for the first time the participation of all localities in the province. The fact that Khanh Son team from a mountainous area won that year tournament’s championship, showed the development of beach football in this district as well as the district’s efforts to improve the beach football movement.
Reportedly, on the opening day of this year’s tournament, the teams played exciting matches. In Group A, Ninh Hoa had a narrow 4-3 win against last year’s champion Khanh Son. Meanwhile, in Group B, the 2017 runner-up Cam Ranh overcame Nha Trang with the score at 5-3.
With the gap in quality between teams having been narrowed, the provincial beach football tournament of Khanh Hoa is expected to be more and more exciting. Through this tournament, the organization committee will also select and train the most outstanding players to prepare for the national tournaments.
