Gaining nearly all first prizes at the tour 1 of the National Beach Volleyball Tournament 2018, Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball teams continued asserting their superiority over the teams of other localities at the domestic tournaments.
The tour 1 of the National Beach Volleyball Tournament 2018 was organized at Nhat Le beach, Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province from April 25 to 28. The tournament saw the participation of 15 male and 16 female teams from 11 units, provinces, and cities across the country, including Sanna – Sanest Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Kien Giang, and Can Tho, etc.
In the recent ten years, the quality of Khanh Hoa beach volleyball athletes have always been highly evaluated by the professionals. Nguyen Trong Quoc, Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Ngo Vo Thanh Loan, Tran Thi Trong, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram of Khanh Hoa have often been the strongest candidates for the championships. Especially, the achievements of the pair Nguyen Trong Quoc – Nguyen Thanh Vinh has been second to none in Vietnam. This pair has won 29 championships and gold medals at the national beach volleyball tournaments. At present, Ho Chi Minh City team is the only team which is able to be competitive with Khanh Hoa team in men’s event.

Khanh Hoa fielded eight pairs of male and female athletes at the tour 1 of the 2018 National Beach Volleyball Tournament. Three out of these eight pairs brought home gold and silver medals. Specifically, Nguyen Trong Quoc – Nguyen Thanh Vinh ranked first in men’s event; Ngo Vo Thanh Loan – Pham Le Tuyet Ngan, and Nguyen Thi Mai – Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram won gold and silver in women’s event, respectively. Besides, Nguyen Trong Quoc and Ngo Vo Thanh Loan were given the awards for the most excellent athletes.
This is the third time Khanh Hoa athletes have won championship in both men’s and women’s event, two times at the tour 1 of the national beach volleyball tournament and one time at the 2014 National Physical Exercise and Sports Festival.
Reportedly, after the tour 1, the representatives of Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball went to Hai Phong to take part in the Women’s Beach Volleyball Open Tournament – Hai Phong Cup taking part on April 30 and May 1. This was considered as a good opportunity for young female athletes of Khanh Hoa to exchange and learn experience.
