The representative of Khanh Hoa’s volleyball, Sanest Khanh Hoa, is making an appearance in a continental tournament for the first time.

The 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship takes place from July 30 to August 6 in Myanmar, drawing the participation of 16 strong volleyball clubs of many countries such as Thailand, Japan, China, Qatar, Australia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, and Myanmar. Sanest Khanh Hoa takes part in the tournament as the holder of Vietnam National Volleyball Tournament 2017. The two key athletes of Sanest Khanh Hoa, outside hitter Tu Thanh Thuan and libero Huynh Trung Truc, who are assembling for training camp of Vietnam national volleyball team, accompanied Sanest Khanh Hoa to Myanmar.

Tran Quang Thuong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Technique Training Center, said that representing Vietnam at a continental tournament is an honor not only of Sanest Khanh Hoa but also of Khanh Hoa’s sports. The tournament is expected to help the athletes to improve their skills and earn experience. This is also an opportunity for Sanest Khanh Hoa to introduce their image to people from other countries.

Sanest Khanh Hoa was divided into Group B together with Iraq, Taiwan, and China. Iraq and China are the very strong opponents which will probably cause Khanh Hoa’s team many problems in the group stage. Reportedly, Sanest Khanh Hoa aims for top eight at this tournament.

In the recent years, Sanest Khanh Hoa has played with the combination between the experience of the juniors (Ngo Van Kieu, Tu Thanh Thuan, Huynh Trung Truc) and strength of the youths (Duong Van Tien, Tran Trien Chieu, Nguyen Quoc Doan, Nguyen Thanh Phuong, etc.).  Especially, Tran Trien Chieu and Duong Van Tien have recently showed their progress although Sanest Khanh Hoa has not achieved relatively good results at the 2018 season.

Hopefully, through the 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, the players of Sanest Khanh Hoa will gain useful experience to prepare for the upcoming 2018 National Sports Festival which is slated for December in Hanoi.
