This has been the fourth and also the third consecutive year Sanna – Sanest Khanh Hoa won gold medals in the two events. At this tournament, Nguyen Trong Quoc and Nguyen Thanh Vinh gained gold in men’s event; Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram and Nguyen Thi Mai achieved the second gold for Khanh Hoa in women’s event. Additionally, the other pairs of Khanh Hoa (Huynh Ngoc Vinh Phuc - Nguyen Van Khanh, Vu Ngoc Lan Nguyen – Nguyen Le Tuong Vy), also placed second and third in men’s event and women’s event, respectively.
Joining the tour 2 of the 2018 National Beach Volleyball Tournament were 26 male and female pairs of nine teams: Sanna – Sanest Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Kien Giang, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, and Army Corps 4. Sanna – Sanest Khanh Hoa made up the largest number of participants with eight pairs (five male and three female pairs).

In the recent years, Khanh Hoa athletes have always been among the top beach volleyball athletes in Vietnam. Nguyen Trong Quoc and Nguyen Thanh Vinh have often overpowered other athletes in men’s event at the national tournaments. Meanwhile, the finals of women’s event have often seen the competitions of the pairs of Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City or Hai Phong. Since Nguyen Thi Mai transferred to Khanh Hoa from Hai Phong and played in pair with young talent athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram, Khanh Hoa has dominated the women’s event for three recent tournaments.
In order to maintain the achievements, Sanna – Sanest Khanh Hoa has always attached importance to the investment for young players. Every year, the coaching committee adds one to two young players to the team. The two excellent athletes Nguyen Trong Quoc and Ngo Vo Thanh Loan have played the coach-cum-player role. Besides, the young athletes have also been offered opportunities to partner the key athletes at the national tournaments. This has helped the young athletes to be trained and learn experience from the quality athletes as well as contributed to the stable development of Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball in the recent years.
