Khanh Hoa’s futsal has developed quite well in over recent ten years and has gained a certain position in the domestic tournaments with three representative teams – Sanna Khanh Hoa, Sanest Tourist Khanh Hoa, and Sanatech Khanh Hoa. Khanh Hoa was also the host of many international and national sports tournaments such as football (U-19, U-21, beach football) tournaments, volleyball (beach, indoor), marathon, and bike race. However, the coastal province has never been chosen by Vietnam Futsal Federation to be the venue of a national futsal tournament. The reason was the provincial sports hall was not adequate.

This time, the proposal for organizing the 2019 edition of the National Futsal Tournament at the Nha Trang University multi-functional sports hall of Khanh Hoa was approved. The tournament’s organization committee recently had a meeting with the leaders of Khanh Hoa about the organization of this tournament. Being held at the university, the tournament is expected to encourage the physical activities among students and raise the quality of physical training in the university.
The preparations for the National Futsal Tournament – HDBank 2019 are being carried out. The lighting, stands, flooring, and functional rooms, etc. of the sports hall are being renewed and renovated to provide good quality for the matches. The university and relating units are also focusing on ensuring security and safety for the teams and supporters during the tournament are. The multi-functional sports hall is located far from the study areas; therefore, the competitions will not affect the teaching and studying of the teachers and students.
The National Futsal Championship – HDBank 2019 includes two stages. As planned, the multi-functional sports hall of Nha Trang University is the venue of stage 1 (preliminary round) joined by seven teams (Kim Toan Da Nang, Sanna Khanh Hoa, Sanest Tourist Khanh Hoa, Thai Son Bac, Vietfootball, Da Nang, and Quang Nam) from April 2 to 14. Stage 2 will see the competitions of the top four of stage 1 and six teams which placed first to sixth at the National Futsal Championship 2018 (Thai Son Nam, Sanatech Sanest Khanh Hoa, Hai Phuong Nam Gia Dinh University, Saigon FC, Cao Bang, Tan Hiep Hung).
