The opening ceremony of the Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2019 of and the National Tourism Year will take place at the 2-4 Square (Nha Trang) in May. The sports sector of Khanh Hoa planed to hold numerous sports activities to serve locals and tourists on this occasion.
The opening ceremony of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2019 and the National Tourism Year 2019 (Visit Vietnam Year 2019) will take place at the 2-4 Square, Nha Trang in May. The sports sector of Khanh Hoa planed to hold numerous sports activities to serve locals and tourists on this occasion.
Specifically, there will be three international sports events to happen during the festival, including yacht race, golf tournament, and Challenge Vietnam (a triathlon of running, swimming, and cycling). These are the large-scaled sports competitions which Vietnam’s General Department of Sports incorporated into the program of the Visit Vietnam Year 2019. The Provincial Department of Culture and Sports of Khanh Hoa was appointed to host the competitions.
Additionally, in order for the locals and tourists to enjoy the animated atmosphere of the festival, Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports will incorporate with the localities and other units to hold movement sports activities, for example unicorn-lion-dragon dance, cross-country running – TTC Cup, provincial beach football competition, human chess competition of the southern central coastal and highland area, etc. In 2019, Khanh Hoa also plans to host the national table-tennis tournament, national volleyball club tournament, muay Thai contest, women’s football contest, and so on.
In June, Khanh Hoa’s sports sector also launches a province-wide activity about protecting children from drowning. Apart from the main activities, the first beach fitness contest in Vietnam will be organized at the 2-4 Square, Nha Trang on the occasion of the 2019 Sea Festival. The contest is expected to draw 100 to 300 professional and amateur athletes from the fitness centers over the country.
The recent sports events of Khanh Hoa were successfully organized thanks to the active cooperation of the provincial departments. The province was the host of the 2019 International U-19 Football Tournament, National Basketball Tournament, and the National Futsal Championship. Since the beginning of this year, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports has cooperated with other departments and units to ensure the best conditions for the two upcoming large-scaled events.
