The 2019 AFF Futsal Cup is scheduled to take place in Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand) from June 18 to 23. Six teams will take part in the cup, including Choburi (Thailand), Black Steel MK (Indonesia), Myanmar Imperial University FC (Myanmar), Down Town Sport (Cambodia), Melaka United FC (Malaysia), and Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa. A drawn was held to divide six teams into Group A and Group B. In a single round robin format, the teams will compete to decide the best two teams of each group for the semi finals and finals. According to the draw, Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa is in Group B and will play against two strong teams which are Choburi and Black Steel MK.

As said by Tran Duy Hieu, Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa delegation head, Choburi – the representative team of Thailand – is a strong favorite for the championship. Although Choburi only placed second in the 2018 season of Thailand futsal Tournament, the team has been considered as a small Thailand national team. In the 2018 AFF Futsal Club Championship, Choburi played with eight out of 14 national futsal athletes in their line-up. Black Steel MK of Indonesia is also a tough opponent who used to defeat Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa in a friendly match. In order to avoid Choburi, which won two championships at this tournament, and secure a spot in the semi-final round, Khanh Hoa’s team has to overcome Black Steel MK in their first match on June 19.
This is the second time Khanh Hoa’s team has taken part in AFF Futsal Cup. In 2018, under the management of Coach Prasert Innui, the representative of Khanh Hoa had to leave the tournament after the group stage with one draw and two losses. In the first leg of the 2019 National Futsal Championship – HDBANK 2019, Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa did not play well in the first three matches and lost all three. However, they revived and won six consecutive matches, which helped them to earn third place in the standings.
