The host Hanoi dominated the majority of the game and took the lead twice when playing Sanna Khanh Hoa-Bien Vietnam (S.KH-BVN) in the round 15 of V-League 2019. However, S.KH-BVN made a good comeback and held Hanoi to a valiant 2-2 draw.
There was a big gap between two sides. Hanoi came into the match as the table-topping team; meanwhile, S.KH-BVN came to Hang Day Stadium on the back of a string of bad results. The host started the game quickly on the front foot and had most of the possession, putting a lot of pressure on S.KH-BVN defenders and goalkeeper. However, no sides scored in the first half.
In the second half, under the consecutive pressure from the attackers of Hanoi, captain and midfield Zarour Chaher, one of the best defenders of S.KH-BVN, put the ball into his own net in the 56th minute. After conceding a goal, S.KH-BVN changed their tactic. Former Vietnam U-23 player Huu Khoi was fielded replacing Patiyo to search for an equalizer. The change proved its efficiency with a goal made by Huu Khoi in the 81st minute.
However, the visitor had to concede their second goal in the 85th minute when Pape Omar of Hanoi latched on to a miscued header of S.KH-BVN defender and kicked the ball into the net of goalkeeper Tuan Manh. The efforts of S.KH-BVN earned them a good opportunity at the stoppage time of the match. Defender Tan Dien received a pass from his teammate and scored a 2-2 equalizer for the visitor.
With this disappointing draw, Hanoi failed to consolidate their position on the table and fell one point behind Ho Chi Minh City. Whereas although one point from this game could not help to improve the position of S.KH-BVN, it is hoped to help the players to play more confidently when they meet Becamex Binh Duong at home ground.
