The regional elimination kicked off recently at the mini football pitch of Nha Trang University. There have been numerous provincial and national football tournaments held annually in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa; however, this national seven-a-side football tournament has a special attraction, capturing the attention and interest of a lot of players and football supporters in the province and other localities in the central region.

The regional elimination’s opening ceremony saw the attendance of former coach of Vietnam U-20, Hoang Anh Tuan; Head Coach of Sanvinest Sanna Khanh Hoa futsal team, Dang Dinh Khang; former national players Nguyen Quang Hai and Cao Sy Cuong, etc.
Eight teams in KPL-S1 compete for the only ticket to the national final round with the qualified teams of the northern and southern regions. All movement football teams in Khanh Hoa take part in the tournament, including Thanh Thanh, Nam Phuong, Le Bao Minh Khanh Hoa, Olympic Gym, and Van Tin FC. Besides, it seems that all well-known football players of Khanh Hoa join this tournament. Thanh Thanh has the joining of Le Tan Tai, former national player and Nguyen Hoang Quoc Chi, Khanh Hoa’s player who is playing for Quang Nam in V-League.
Thanh Thanh outplayed and defeated Van Tin FC 5-2 in their first clash. Olympic Gym is also a redoubtable team when they recruited many players of Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam, who is playing at V-League 2019, such as Dinh Kha, Van Phong, and Viet Binh. Olympic Gym also had a good start with a 2-0 win against Song Lam Nghe An. Le Bao Minh Khanh Hoa comprises of quality futsal players of Sanvinest Sanna Khanh Hoa, namely Mai Thanh Dat, Nguyen Van Thanh, Nguyen Khac Chi. The team from Ninh Thuan Province, Sao Viet Ninh Thuan dominated Thai Duong and won the game 6-1.
In the first matches of the regional elimination, strong teams had smooth starts. However, the teams have nearly one month ahead to play, and possible exciting and surprising clashes may lie ahead.
