Last weekends, a lot of football supporters and students went to the mini football pitch of Nha Trang University to watch and cheer the teams competing at the ongoing central region elimination of the National Seven-a-Side Football Tournament (KPL-S1).
Pham Ngoc Tuan, general director of Viet Football Joint Stock Company (Vietfootball), Executive Board member of Vietnam Football Federation, head of tournament’s organization committee, said it was not easy to find a qualified venue meeting the conditions for both teams and supporters because this is the first time Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa has hosted a nation-level seven-a-side football tournament. Therefore, he highly evaluated the support of Nha Trang University in preparing and providing favorable conditions for the organization of the tournament.

Nha Trang University has two sports sections for the students to do sports activities, including a multifunctional sports arena meeting standards for a range of sports such as volleyball, badminton, futsal, basketball, etc. and a mini football artificial pitch. With good facilities, Nha Trang University offers an appealing venue for sports events. The first round of the national futsal championship – HDBank 2019 was also organized at the university (last April). PhD Tran Doan Hung, vice-principal of Nha Trang University considers this as an honor and a driving force to further develop sports movement, especially football in the university.
The multifunctional sports arena of Khanh Hoa University is also regarded as a quality venue for sports contests. Khanh Hoa Badminton Federation decided to hold the provincial badminton club open tournament 2019 at this arena. The tournament received a positive response from the participants from other provinces in terms of quality of the arena’s flooring and grandstand. Additionally, the university has an artificial grass field serving the interests in sports activities of the students. Some units even hire this artificial grass field to open football classes for children.
Khanh Hoa has lacked sports facilities. Therefore, the investments of Nha Trang University and Khanh Hoa University in good sports facilities satisfying conditions for large-scale sports contests have been contributing in promoting the province’s sports movement, which is worth being encouraged.
