A successful year
The provincial Department of Culture and Sports recently organized a ceremony to honor the province’s coaches and athletes who contributed to the gold medals of the national sports delegation at SEA Games 30. As said by Tran Quang Thuong, director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Technique Training Center, 2019 has been a successful year of the province’s sports. Many sports coaches and athletes of Khanh Hoa were called for the national sports teams and well performed their role.

At the 30th edition of SEA Games, Khanh Hoa had three coaches and 14 athletes called for Vietnam’s national sports teams of indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, table tennis, and athletics. 2019 has been the year marking the impressive return of Khanh Hoa’s coaches and athletes in the national teams after six years of hiatus. The investment of Khanh Hoa in some major sports in recent years proved its effectiveness with gold medals at the 30th SEA Games.
Appropriate development orientation
Some years ago, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting with the related provincial departments and agencies about the difficulties that the province’s high-achievement sports were facing. From the suggestions and proposals of the units at that meeting, Khanh Hoa Province directed the sports sector to conduct checks and propose appropriate development orientations to improve the quality of the province’s major sports.
Thanks to the good investment in recent years, Khanh Hoa’s futsal, table tennis, athletics, and beach volleyball have gained encouraging results at the domestic tournaments such as the eighth national sports festival and the national athletic championship 2019. At SEA Games 2019, Khanh Hoa’s young athletic athlete Tran Nhat Hoang won three golds in men’s 400m, men’s 4x400m relay and mixed gender 4x400m relay; head coach Doan Kien Quoc led his table tennis team to win a gold in men’s doubles.
At the recent ceremony honoring the province’s excellent coaches and athletes, Nguyen Dac Tai, Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, highly appreciated the results of Khanh Hoa’s coaches and athletes at SEA Games 30. These achievements were the proof for the effectiveness of the province’s investment in the sports at which Khanh Hoa has been good, he emphasized.
Also at the ceremony, Nguyen Dac Tai directed the province’s sports sector to focus on encouraging the coaches and athletes of other sports in order to give them a driving force to keep making efforts in promoting the development of Khanh Hoa’s sports.
