Vietnam U22 made a brave comeback from 1-0 down to edge Indonesia U22 2-1 in their third Group B game of SEA Games 30 on December 1.
The tactic of Indonesia caused some troubles for Vietnam’s defense in the first half. They took the lead after 23 minutes with a header of Rizki Fauzi, courtesy of a goalkeeping error.
Vietnam rallied in the second half to restore parity. Thanh Chung equalized for Vietnam with a header in the 64th minute. Hoang Duc scored a stunning injury-time winner to hand Vietnam a 2-1 win over Indonesia.
The win helped Vietnam U22 to remain top of Group B with nine points. Thailand U22 and Indonesia U22 are second and third. Vietnam will meet Singapore on December 3.
