Unicorn-lion-dragon dance festival and human chess contest held by the provincial Culture-Cinema Center are among the most exciting activities on Tet holidays in Khanh Hoa. From January 27 to 29 (lunar January 3-5), the semi-final and final competitions of the 2020 Tet human chess contest will take place at the 2-4 Square (Nha Trang), starting from 4:30pm. This is an annual Tet activity, which gathers many skilled chess players in Khanh Hoa. The chess techniques and moves used in each chess match will be analyzed and commented by Khanh Hoa’s excellent chess player, Dr Tran Cam Long.

From 7pm to 8:30pm on January 27 (lunar January 3), the center will hold a show of traditional martial arts and unicorn-lion-dragon dances, performed by the martial art practitioners of Tho Phuoc Duong unicorn-lion-dragon club and Bich Quang Mon Dojo (Khanh Hoa Children's House). These two units have had more than ten year seniority in practicing traditional martial art and in performing unicorn-lion-dragon dances in Khanh Hoa. With their experience and skills, the martial art practitioners are expected to create a vibrant atmosphere and exciting performances on Tet holiday.
Nha Trang City Center of Culture, Information and Sports holds six movement sports contests for the locals from January 12 to 19. Specifically, a chess and Chinese chess contest for age groups was organized recently, attracting more than 500 male and female players of around 50 units in the city. The center’s table-tennis contest will be organized from January 15 to 17 with the participation of around 20 units with over 100 players. A badminton contest is going to take place from January 18 to 19.
Cam Ranh City’s Center of Culture, Information and Sports has planed to organize a seven-a-side football contest, badminton, tennis, and chess contests. In Ninh Hoa Town, the 2020 Tet sports activities will start with the aerobic-hip hop festival on the evening of January 22 (lunar December 28). From February 1 and 2, the town will hold a morning exercise festival, a traditional martial art contest and a movement volleyball competition.
With carefully-planned activities, the localities and units in Khanh Hoa hope to provide the locals and tourists in the province a joyfully festive atmosphere of Lunar New Year 2020.
