The 2020 beach volleyball season of Vietnam is scheduled to start with tour 1 in Binh Thuan Province from April 13 to 16. As usual, the 2020 tournament will gather most of the clubs and localities with strong beach volleyball movement over the country, including Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Army, Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Can Tho. Tour 1 of the national beach volleyball tournament has always attracted the attention of many beach volleyball clubs throughout the country. It is not only the opening contest of a new season but also an opportunity for young players to compete and gain experience, according to head coach of Sanna-Sanest Khanh Hoa — Nguyen Trong Quoc.

Tour 1 has been considered as a contest for the clubs and localities to assess the skills of their young players. Therefore, its quality is often not as good as the other tours of the national tournaments. Reportedly, aside from the familiar events such as men’s and women’s individuals, the 2020 tour 1 will have team’s events. In particular, each participating team will have two pairs of players competing in men’s pair and women’s pair. The team with two wins is the winner in that encounter. In case they draw 1-1, each team will choose two players from their two pairs to compete in decisive encounter.
The new events added to the 2020 tour 1 are expected to help young players to have more opportunities to learn experience and improve their skills. Sanna-Sanest Khanh Hoa will take part in the upcoming tour 1 with four male and three female pairs. Since the beginning of this year, Sanna-Sanest Khanh Hoa players have practiced hard for the tournament. A part from the familiar players, who have secured many good achievements at the previous domestic tournaments, this year, Sanna-Sanest Khanh Hoa has added two pairs of young male players from the province’s indoor volleyball Sanest Khanh Hoa.
Over the past ten years, Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball has gained numerous achievements and asserted their position in the top teams in Vietnam. The province’s beach volleyball coach and players were appointed and selected by the General Department of Sports to join the national team. For example, senior athlete Nguyen Trong Quoc, who has won a lot of prizes and medals at both domestic and international tournaments, was selected to coach the national beach volleyball team at SEA Games 30.
In tour 1 of the 2020 national beach volleyball tournament, Trong Quoc will play dual role of Sanna-Sanest Khanh Hoa’s coach and player in men’s pair. However, this time, Trong Quoc will not pair with his familiar teammate in the part ten years, namely Thanh Vinh, but with a young player. This combination will help the young player to learn experience better and also ensure the team’s competitiveness in tour 1.
