Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, this year, many summer sports activities for teenagers and children in Khanh Hoa were suspended. However, some movement sports activities have been held at a relatively small scale than the previous years. Summer 2020 Starkid Championship was among these activities. This contest created a useful playground for children loving football in summer 2020. Through the contest, the organizers wanted to scout and promote promising players to the provincial gifted teams.

Although being held at a small scale, Summer 2020 Starkid Championship was still exciting and attractive. The contest was joined by four U11 teams from the community football centers of AP Skill, Hoang Manchester, My Love (Dien Khanh District) and Starkid Khanh Hoa. The teams competed in a single round robin format to decide the winner based on points. All matches were played in the morning of August 2.
The interesting thing of this contest was that all players were given an opportunity to play. Kimi, born in 2010, a Vietnamese-French player of Starkid Khanh Hoa, was among the outstanding players of the contest. In the match with AP Skill, Kimi scored three goals to lead Starkid Khanh Hoa to a comeback victory over the opponent. Starkid Khanh Hoa was also the winner of Summer 2020 Starkid Championship. My Love came in second; AP Skill and Hoang Manchester tied for third place.
At the end of the contest, all four participating teams had prizes, and the players were all happy because they could play football at an interesting contest. The success of Summer 2020 Starkid Championship is a driving force for the organizers to keep organize summer contests for children at a larger scale in the future, according to Duy Nam.
