After more than one month of hiatus to control and prevent COVID-19, round 10 of the Vietnamese National Football First League (LS V-League 2) will resume at 3:30pm on September 25. This round promises exciting competitions when many teams are aiming for top six places.

Currently, the point gap between the five teams on the top half of LS V-League 2 table (Ba Ria-Vung Tau (BR-VT), Pho Hien, Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam (S.KH-BVN), Binh Dinh, An Giang) and the teams on the lower half of the table is quite visible. There have been a fierce competition among the top five for the rankings with a small margin of points between them. For example, rookie team BR-VT who are topping the table with 18 points after 9 rounds have only 1 to 3 points more than the teams below. Therefore, the top-half teams still cannot be sure of entering the next round, and round 10 will be an opportunity for them to get points.

On the lower half, sixth-placed Bong da Hue (12 points) and even eighth-placed Xi mang Fico-YTL Tay Ninh (11 points) still have chances if they make a breakthrough in round 10. Meanwhile, the four bottom teams Long An (9 points), Dong Thap (8 points), Dak Lak (7 points), Can Tho (6 points) nearly have no chance of getting a place in top six because in round 10 they will meet each other or a strong opponent. For example, Dong Thap, despite having home advantage, are expected to have a tough match playing against Pho Hien, who is the only unbeaten team after nine rounds. It is nearly impossible for Dong Thap to win this match. One draw is considered a success for the home team because if they lose, the door to the top 6 will be closed to them. As for Long An, Dak Lak, Can Tho, with their current points and rankings, there won’t be many chances for them to cause any problems for the current top six no matter their results in round 10.

The most exciting matches of round 10 can be the competitions between An Giang (15 points) and Bong da Hue (12 points) at Long Xuyen Stadium and Binh Dinh and S.KH-BVN who have been level with 16 points each. Sixth-placed Bong da Hue are facing a great opportunity to level the point with their direct competitor, fifth-placed An Giang. Before LS V-League 2 was suspended, Hue played quite well with a win and a draw against two strong teams, S.KH-BVN and Pho Hien. The home team An Giang need to be careful if they don’t want their position to be threatened.

The competition for third place between Binh Dinh and S.KH-BVN is considered the focus of this round. S.KH-BVN have recently seen the departures of their key players namely Lam Ti phong, Dinh Khuong and Trum Tinh because of the team’s financial difficulties. S.KH-BVN’s strength has decreased a lot, and they are at a disadvantage in the competition with Binh Dinh. The support and encouragement of Khanh Hoa provincial leaders have helped S.KH-BVN to overcome a difficult time. Reportedly, although the team have faced many difficulties over the past days, they have never wanted to give up and will continue to play football with dedication.
