This year's tournament attracted a substantial number of spectators, which proved the success and attractiveness of this national 7-a-side playground in Nha Trang City after two years of organization.

This year’s tournament attracted a substantial number of spectators, which proved the success and attractiveness of this national 7-a-side playground in Nha Trang City after two years of organization.
Nha Trang hosts three large-scale sports tournaments in December, including the 2020 National 7-a-side Football Championship KPL-S2, the final round of the 2020 PV GAS National Volleyball Championship, and the final round of the 2020 National U21 Championship. All the three tournaments are highly rated in term of quality and worth watching. However, there was a considerable difference in the number of spectators between KPL-S2 and U21 matches. The stands of KPL-S2 were often full of spectators.

Nguyen PhucNghia, a spectator, said that he had chosen to see the KPL-S2 finals because he was excited to see which team would win the tournament, which he followed from the beginning. Most of the players taking part in the KPL-S2 were the players of Khanh Hoa Province; they were energetic and always played with enthusiasm. This was also a reason attracting the interest of the spectators, Nghia added.
Before the last round (seventh round) of this year’s KPL, the competition for the championship were among thee teams namely C-CASA (15 points), Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa (14 points), and Olympic Gym (13 points). On the final match day, C-CASA played Thanh Thanh Travel (the 2019 champions); Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa met Phu Yen. These two matches took place at two fields, which are only a few meters apart, but at the same time. This made the battle for the championship more thrilling because the final outcome depended on the results of both matches. If C-CASA overcome Thanh Thanh Travel, they will grab the championship irrespective of the result of the match between Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen. Otherwise, Nam Phuong KhanhHoa will have a chance to reach the title.

It was a tense first half between C-CASA and Thanh Thanh Travel with constant attacks created from the both sides. The finals became more fascinating when, at the other field, Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa netted four goals into the net of Phu Yen. C-CASA eventually could break the deadlock and scored the opener after a defensive mistake of Thanh Thanh Travel’s goalkeeper. With that relief goal, C-CASA played better and had another goal just some minutes later by Khac Chi. That was the last goal of the match, ending the chance of Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa and helping C-CASA to lift the trophy.
Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa finished second with one point fewer than C-CASA. Olympic Gyms came in third; Thanh Thanh Travel was given fair-play prize. Khac Chi and Dien Son of C-CASA were the top scorer and the best player respectively. Nguyen Dinh Y Hoa of Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa was given prize for the best goalkeeper.

“Football supporters in Nha Trang brought great moments to the tournament and contributed to the success of the second edition,” said Pham Ngoc Tuan, member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Football Federation, General Director of VietFootball. Reportedly, impressed by the vibrant atmosphere from Khanh Hoa’s movement football, the organization committee is considering the possibility of holding the national stage VPL (comprising all qualified teams from the north, central, and south regions) in Nha Trang in the future.
