After enjoying the first days of Lunar New Year 2021, most of the sports teams of Khanh Hoa Province have started practicing energetically to prepare for new goals and achievements in the new season.
On the morning of February 15 (lunar January 4), Khanh Hoa Football Club (Khanh Hoa FC) resembled to start their first training session at 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium and the football field in Vinh Hoa Ward (Nha Trang City) to prepare for the 2021 Vietnamese National Football First League (V-League 2) expected to kick off at the end of March. Most of the players practiced with positive spirit in new uniform. Their goal in 2021 is getting promoted back to V-League 1. The sponsorship of Cam Ranh International Real Estate Joint Stock Company last January helped the team to overcome financial difficulties and provided impetus and driving force for coach Vo Dinh Tan and his players to continue their journey in V-League 2 and set target towards V-League 1.
Reportedly, the fixtures of the 2021 V-League 2 were due to take place in March, but they might be postponed for some weeks due to concerns over COVID-19. This year’s V-League 2 has 13 teams and will be played in the same format with last year’s season. This year continues to be a difficult season for V-League 2 teams to compete for promotion to V-League 1; just some failure can take away their chance.
In the 2021 season, besides last year's strong teams such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Pho Hien, and Binh Phuoc, Quang Nam, who were delegated from V-League 1 last season, are also highly appreciated. Quang Nam’s players remain unchanged compared to last year and have strong determination to get back to V-League 1. As for Khanh Hoa FC, they had to say farewell to some key players in the 2020 season. Apart from the remaining familiar faces, Khanh Hoa FC recruited Kim Hung and Duy Duong from Can Tho and Dak Lak. Although this line-up cannot be as competitive as the old one, the supporters still have a lot of expectations that, thanks to the investment from the new sponsor, their team will soon return to the highest league.
Sanest Khanh Hoa volleyball team also returned to training on February 16 (lunar January 5) at the provincial Sports Technique Training Center. All the key players, who made outstanding contributions to Sanest Khanh Hoa’s championship at last year’s season, took part in the first training session. In the previous years, after assembling, the team would practice hard and take part in some contests to prepare for the national championships. However, this year, they avoid long-distance travel for the sake of their players during COVID-19 pandemic. Reportedly, most of the major tournaments organized by Vietnam Volleyball Federation, for instance Hoa Lu Cup, round 1 of the national championship, Hung Vuong Cup, etc. are being considered to be rescheduled from the end of March to mid-April. This makes it difficult for teams to help their athletes maintain their form and fitness.
Sanest Khanh Hoa are the defending champions of Hung Vuong Cup and national championship. Therefore, the target of coach Thai Quang Lai and his players in the 2021 season is defending their achievements.
