On April 7, Khanh Hoa's Phu Dong Sports Festival of the school-year 2020-2021 kicked off at the multifunction sports arena of Nha Trang University. The attendees at the opening ceremony were Dinh Van Thieu, Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; leaderships of the provincial departments of education and training, culture and sports, Youth Union, and Nha Trang University; and more than 1,000 staff, teachers, students, and athletes of the participating primary schools, junior high schools, and high schools over the province.

Khanh Hoa's Phu Dong Sports Festival 2021 takes place from April 5 to 15, joined by more than 2,300 students of 40 delegations representing eight bureaus of education and training and 32 schools across the province. The festival includes 11 sports (athletics, swimming, physical exercises, chess, badminton, shuttlecock kicking, stick pushing, table tennis, football, volleyball, basketball). The athletes compete in the events of individual, double, and team.
