The teams that are receiving the most attention prior to the tournament are Communications Command (female champions at the National Volleyball Championships 2021), Trang An Ninh Binh (male champions at the National Volleyball Championships 2021), Vinh Phuc (Class-A female champions at the National Volleyball Championships 2021), and Vinh Long (Class-A male champions at the National Volleyball Championships 2021).

As reported, Communications Command and Trang An Ninh Binh confirmed that they wouldn’t recruit foreign players to play at the 2022 tournament. They have prepared for the tournament with their existing players, and they have belief in their current line-ups. Head coach Pham Minh Dung of Communications Command is confident with his quality players who won SEA Games 31 silver medal and who are the former members of the national team. Meanwhile, Trang An Ninh Binh signed former outstanding outside hitter Quoc Duy of The Cong after the two sides’ final match at the 2021 championships. Apart from Quoc Duy, Trang An Ninh Binh also have many national team members. Together with quality players, home advantage will make Trang An Ninh Binh the favorite to win the 2022 championship.
Vinh Phuc female team are focusing on enhancing the competing spirit of their existing domestic players and avoiding relegation. The team’s operation has been affected by the difficulties of their sponsor, FLC Group. At the time they debuted, Vinh Phuc female team set the target that they would advance to the final round of the national championships just one year after being promoted. However, at present, they are attaching importance to the investment for the domestic players. The recruitment of foreign players depends on the funds.
Meanwhile, Vinh Phuc male team are looking for suitable foreign players. They hope to have excellent hitters to play at this year’s National Volleyball Championships. They just finished their journey at a tournament for strong teams of the southern region held in Vinh Long Province.
