Successful organization of International Series Vietnam 2023 at KN Golf Links Cam Ranh

International Series Vietnam 2023, a tournament of the Asian Tour, took place successfully recently at KN Golf Links Cam Ranh (Cam Ranh City) and left many memorable impressions on international participants.

Zimbabwean golfer claims championship

This was the first time after seven years that the top gold tournament in Asia returned to Vietnam. After four days of competition, Zimbabwean golfer Kieran Vincent claimed the champion and won the prize of USD360,000. 

Within the framework of International Series Vietnam 2023, the organization committee offered USD25,000 to Khanh Hoa Study & Talent Promotion Fund in order to support disadvantaged students. This support showed the organization committee’s concern and desire to help local community where the tournament took place. In addition, Le Van Kiem, chairman of KN Group, also gave Khanh Hoa Study & Talent Promotion Fund VND500 million to support the study and help to create a brighter future for the students.

One year of preparation

Reportedly, the organization committee of International Series Vietnam 2023 had sent many delegations to survey and assess the conditions of the golf course, facilities and equipment. KN Golf Links satisfied all the standards for the tournament. In order to ensure the best quality for the tournament, the host unit had purchased new equipment; Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company also increased its support in resources and human resources. The management board actively provided advanced training for about 300 employees one year before the tournament to ensure the best personnel for this important tournament.

KN Golf Links Cam Ranh is an important part of KN Paradise Resort and Entertainment Complex project, located adjacent to Cam Ranh International Airport with only 5 minutes of travel. KN Golf Links course was designed by Australian golfer Greg Norman and was fully advised by IMG, the global leader in sports, on operation process. Throughout the tournament, the athletes and their companions stayed at Wyndham Grand KN Paradise Cam Ranh Resort of the KN Paradise project, located next to the golf course.

A boost to Vietnam’s golf market

In the past five years, the position of golf in Vietnam has changed a lot. Many new golf courses have been built, and golf practice has also cost significantly less, resulting in the rapid increase of golfers in Vietnam. In addition, large scale tournaments with high professional quality are also organized regularly. Especially, the introduction of the professional tournament system VGA Tour with prizes worth from VND1 billion to VND1.5 billion (equivalent to tournaments of the Asian Development Tour), moved the golf industry in Vietnam to new level.

The organization of International Series Vietnam 2023 at KN Golf Links provided a great opportunity for Khanh Hoa Province in particular and Vietnam in general to promote the images of the locality and country. On such good occasions, the whole golf community in Vietnam need to join hands to prove why Vietnam has been voted as "Asia's most attractive golf destination" and "World's most attractive golf destination" for many times. This will help to make Vietnam noticeable on the world’s golf map and attract bigger tournaments of the Asian Tour, DP World Tour or PGA Tour to Vietnam in the future.

Obviously, with the growing development of Vietnam’s golf market, tournaments like International Series Vietnam 2023 will be a boost for Vietnam’s golf tourism and a bridge between Asia’s and Vietnam’s golf markets, contributing to the development orientation of professional golf in Vietnam.
