V.League 1-2023 round 7: Khanh Hoa FC have first home win

The match between Khanh Hoa FC and SHB Da Nang in round 7 of V.League 1-2023 at 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium (Nha Trang City) was attended by Nguyen Hai Ninh, Central Party Committee Member and Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; and Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The hosts Khanh Hoa FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over the opponents. This was also Khanh Hoa FC’s first home win this season.

Khanh Hoa FC had had two consecutive away matches before the clash with SHB Da Nang in round 7. A lot of people came to 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium to see the match and cheer for the home team. The presence of the two leaders of the province gave more encouragement to Khanh Hoa FC players. The hosts entered the match actively and made many attacks, which challenged the backline of the visitors. However, the hosts’ strikers, especially foreign ones didn’t finish well enough. The first half ended with no goal scored.

After the break, coach Phan Thanh Hung of SHB Da Nang brought on some substitutes, notably foreign midfielder Nicolas Olsen, who contributed to the better performance of the visitors. It was SHB Da Nang who played better and created many attacks on target. Under the pressure from the visitors, a player of Khanh Hoa FC touched the ball, and SHB Da Nang were given a penalty kick.  Nicolas Olsen took the penalty kick, and it was the excellence of Khanh Hoa FC goalkeeper that saved the hosts from a conceded goal. The visitors also caused some other threat to the backline of Khanh Hoa FC. Highly-focused and determined Khanh Hoa FC fought tooth and nail to protect the goal. While striving to resist the pressure from SHB Da Nang, Khanh Hoa FC suddenly made the opener through the header of striker Muacir Abdul. In the remaining time of the match, SHB Da Nang ramped up the pressure in search for the leveler, but the tight defense of the hosts brought the match to a 1-0 end.

After the match, Nguyen Hai Ninh and Nguyen Tan Tuan went down to the field to congratulate Khanh Hoa FC and gave an award of VND50 million to Muacir Abdul, who scored the only goal of the match. With this win, Khanh Hoa FC have 9 points after 7 rounds and are placing 7th on the table, which promises them a spot of survival this season.
