That was an important match for coach Vo Dinh Tan’s team as they are striving to avoid relegation. Khanh Hoa FC didn’t have the best line-up for the competition with Song Lam Nghe An because some of their players had been injured and suspended due to penalty cards. Despite of the wet ground, the players of Khanh Hoa FC started the match energetically. The hosts went ahead less than 10 minutes after kick-off through midfielder Trum Tinh. The hosts played more confidently after the opener, and they had the second goal on 37 minutes thanks to their only foreign player Jago Ramos. Que Ngoc Hai, Trong Hoang and Olaha of Song Lam Nghe An caused troubles for Khanh Hoa FC with their attacks from the right wing. The defense line of Khanh Hoa FC displayed an effective play with high concentration, blocking most of the attacks from the visitors. While Song Lam Nghe An were struggling to find ways to the goal of Khanh Hoa FC, Doan Cong Bang made a header converted from a free kick, putting the hosts 3-1. That was also the decisive goal of the match.

With this victory, Khanh Hoa FC have 16 points, ranking 11th, 5-8 points ahead of SHB Da Nang (11 points), Ho Chi Minh City (11 points), and Becamex Binh Duong (8 points).
