Exchange between Vietnamese golfers and world's legendary golfers at Vinpearl Nha Trang

Within the framework of Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023, a friendly competition between Vietnamese and world's legendary golfers took place at Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang on October 21. Dinh Van Thieu - Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and Nguyen Trung Khanh - Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism attended the event.

At the event, Vietnamese golfers and world's golf legends Phil Golding, Peter Fowler, etc. played mini games and golf. This was a pre-activity of Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023, a part of the Legends Tour organized for the first time in Southeast Asia with a total prize up to USD500,000. Vietnam is the first venue of the tournament in Southeast Asia, which proves the position of Vietnam’s golf in Asia.

Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023 takes place from November 27 to December 2 in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province) with the participation of 60 golf legends including Michael Campbell (2005 US Open champion, 8-time European Tour champion), Ian Woosnam (1991 Masters champion, 2006 Ryder Cup captain), Paul McGinley (2004 Ryder Cup captain, 4-time European Tour champion), Mark James (1999 Ryder Cup captain, 18-time European Tour champion), etc. The tournament also provides the world’s leading golfers an occasion to experience 18-hole golf course of Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang and discover the beauty of Vinpearl Nha Trang as well as Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa.

As said by the Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Dinh Van Thieu, businesses have invested in world-class golf courses in Khanh Hoa Province. The province is focusing on promoting tourism, including sports tourism. He hopes that there will be more tournaments like Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023 in Khanh Hoa.

As said by, Nguyen Trung Khanh - Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said, the fact that Vietnam hosts a tournament of the Legends Tour is a very important not only for Vietnam’s sports but also for Vietnam’s and local tourism. Vietnam has diverse terrains, long coastline, beautiful landscape, etc., which creates conditions to develop world-class golf courses. The Government and authorities have supported and created conditions to develop golf courses. This helped golf movement and economic activities and services for golfers develop strongly. As said by Khanh, the strategy to develop Vietnam’s tourism to 2030 approved by the Government regards golf tourism as the main trend to promote socio-economic development and stimulate tourism demand.

The Department of Tourism highly appreciates the effort of Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in hosting Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023. The success of Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023 is expected to prove the ability of Vietnam in hosting larger and more prestigious tournaments and attract world’s leading golfers and tourists to Vietnam as well as Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa.

Vinpearl Golf has organized and co-organized many national and international golf events, namely Vinfast Cup National Championship, National Amateur Championship, Vietnam Qualifier for World Amateur Championship, and so on. The upcoming tournament to take place at Vinpearl Golf is the 2023 Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship, according to Aaron David Scott Johnston - General Manager of Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang. Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang is actively and carefully preparing for the successful organization of Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023.
